Cultivating the vine

Our vanilla vine is grown in two different ways. Outdoors in the vanilla island of Taha'a using a traditional approach along with modern techniques. We also use greenhouses and a patented process that allows us to grow organic vanilla using the latest in hydroponics techniques.

Traditional production

In French Polynesia Taha'a is known as the vanilla island. It's shaded valleys and humid climate is a perfect match for our Vanilla Tahitentis.
The vines are growing on natural tutors in the shade of the island's tropical forests. This is a very labor intensive culture, as the vine grows it needs to be routed down so it can flower and be at man's reach. Wild vanilla vine will grow up to 30ft on trees.
